Activity 9 – Fault finding.

ACTIVITY 9 – Fault finding

What You Need
• Fault Finding Board
• Multimeter
• Leads

What To Do
• Take a faulty board.
• Measure the resistance across each pair of sockets, AB, BC etc, in turn.
• If you discover a fault, note where the fault was (e.g. CD) and the type of fault.
• Repeat for the other two boards.

Note
The faults will be either:
• Open circuit (broken) wire;
• Open circuit (blown or incorrectly fi tted) bulb;
• Short circuited bulb.
