ACTIVITY 3 – Measuring Acceleration
What You Need
• Trolley or Model Car with double mask
• Light Gates
• Ruler
• Electronic Timer (TSA)
• Leads
What To Do
• Set up the apparatus as shown. See the separate help sheet on how to use the TSA to measure acceleration.
• Position the trolley at the top of the slope.
• Press “Go” on the TSA.
• Release the trolley, making sure that its mask passes through the light gate.
• Check that the TSA gives a reading of acceleration.
